Special thanks to our bilingual program teachers Ms. Pam Kao and Ms. Yu-Ping Wang for their help with the recordings, and to James Chuang and Jennifer Murphy for their help in setting up the equipment for the tests. We also greatly appreciate the support from all our teachers and parents. Thank you, LCS Parent Representatives, for the gift coupons. 1. This weeks badminton class will meet in the Little Theater to watch badminton competition videos.  Should be a great opportunity to learn more advanced strategy and technique!

 

2. Congratulations again to all the LCS students who submitted their work to the 26th All-American Chinese Brush Painting and Calligraphy Competition.  We will display your great work at the May 14 LCS open house. 

 

I am pleased to recognize two of our students:

Sophia Hsu 徐道容, age 9, bronze medal winner and finalist in Category A (ages 9 and under)

Isabelle Wang 王柔文, age 13, finalist in Category B (ages 10-13)

Their work was chosen from a total of 164 submissions by 16 different Chinese Schools, arts studios, and individuals from 4 states (CA, CT, MA, NJ ). The images of the 56 winners art works will be posted at: www.ChinesePerformingArts.net around June 1, 2017.   Congrats Sophia and Isabelle!

1. Thank you for your participation in the Annual Parent Meeting and the Vote for Parent Representatives and Vice Principal last Sunday (4/23). We would like to congratulate the newly elected parent reps,Johnny Lai (賴榮), Carrie Ly (嘉清), and Charlotte Wang (王怡文); and Vice Principal, Jerry Chen (盈杰)!

 

2. Last time for the Formosa Food pre-order for this school year. We will accept your order on 4/30. Pick up will be on 5/7 at the Cafeteria. Thanks!

Orders must be pre-paid by cash or check. Please refer to the Formosa Food Product Order Form for pricing and ordering information. Thank you for your continued support of LCS PTA!

 

3. Every year the LCS PTA recognizes LCS students who score 750 or higher on the Chinese SAT II test with a scholarship prize. Qualified students are encouraged to applySAT II 中文測驗獎勵金申請辦法

Applications are due by May 31.

 

4. 2017 Newton Taiwan Day

Saturday May 6, 2017.  12pm – 4pm

Hyde Playground, 90 Lincoln St, Newton Highlands, MA

There will be Chinese food and drinks, Chinese folk art and craft,  folk sports, and fun games and performances.  LCS will have a booth in the festival, bring your family, come join us! Hyde Playground, 90 Lincoln St, Newton Highlands, MA

Please refer to the parent duty list in the Newsletter for your duty dates.  If you are not sure of your parent duty date, please ask the Executive Secretary. On your parent duty day, please report to the Executive Secretary in the cafeteria by 1:55 to get your duty assignment. 

 

If a conflict arises and you are unable to report for duty, please call us at least three days in advance so that we can change your duty date.  If you do not report for duty and have not made prior arrangements with the school in advance, you will forfeit your parent duty deposit.  Thank you for your cooperation.
