 地點指南 Directions 校友名錄 Alumni 勒星頓中文學校是美東地區規模最大，設備最佳，師資最優的中文學校之一。其宗旨在教授中華語文，延續中華文化，以及促進在美華人與社區之間的聯繫。
Lexington Chinese School (LCS) is one of the largest and most prestigious
Chinese Schools in New England. Its primary goal is to teach the Chinese
language so as to preserve Chinese culture and tradition. Another objective of
the school is to promote mutual understanding and integration between Chinese
Americans and their local communities.
History 本校於一九七二年在麻州勒星頓成立，至今已有三十多年的歷史。 學生人數由創校初的三十六位，增加到今天的近四百位(兩百多個家庭)。本校為 "新英格蘭中文學校協會" 及 "美東中文學校協會" 會員，和其它勒星頓及華人團體經常保持密切的聯繫與合作。 勒星頓無論在教學方法，教材編撰及校務行政均有良好的制度，日後的辦校重點為: 加強課程內容的多元化設計，積極編輯新教材，修訂現有的補充教材，並繼續保持與其它中文學校和社區團體的良好關係，為推動海外中文教育而努力。 LCS was founded in 1972 in Lexington, Massachusetts. The school is currently located at Belmont High School in Belmont, MA. Starting with an enrollment of 36 students, LCS has kept growing over the past 30+ years. Today, Lexington Chinese School has an enrollment of about 400 students, from more than 200 families. Lexington Chinese School is a member of the Association of Chinese Schools (ACS) and the New England Association of Chinese Schools (NEACS). Despite the accomplishment of a fine system of teaching approaches, textbook compilation, and administrative functions, Lexington Chinese School aims to develop a greater variety of subject matters in the curriculum design, while continuing to improve current teaching materials and adopt new learning tools.
LCS will continue to maintain a
harmonious relationship with other Chinese schools and
social organizations, in order to strive to promote Chinese
instruction in the United States.

教學課程

中文教材 The LCS Language Program consists of more than 25 kindergarten, primary, secondary and high school level classes; and also bilingual classes. The curriculum in the Chinese Language Program is designed mainly to help students to develop the skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Chinese. The School makes every effort to foster students' interest and desire to learn the language, consequently, in addition to the adoption of conventional Chinese language textbooks as primary teaching materials, LCS has also designed and compiled its own textbooks and guides for use as teaching materials in kindergarten classes and supplementary readings in the higher level classes. In addition to its Language Program, Lexington Chinese School also sponsors a variety of student extracurricular activity programs, which include: Chinese calligraphy, drawing/painting, folk art, dances, junior music, Chinese instruments, Chinese chess, martial arts, badminton, table tennis, etc. LCS also offers SAT II Chinese program.
Classes at Lexington Chinese School meet once a week, on Sunday afternoons,
from September through June.
All language classes meet for two hours, 2:00-4:00 pm,
each week.
Student extracurricular activities run for an hour,
from 4:00 to 5:00 pm.

Special Events 本校經常舉辦各項學藝活動，如演講，說故事，認字，常識，查字典比賽等。另配合中西節日舉辦各式慶祝活動，例如新年聯歡，元宵燈謎，萬聖節服裝遊行，中秋節，聖誕節，母親節等慶祝活動。此外，學校也不定期舉辦郊遊烤肉，滑雪等全家可參與的活動；以增進同學，師生及家庭間的感情，和提高學生對上中文學校興趣。 行事曆，特別活動日期，活動消息 Throughout the academic year, LCS holds various academic events to promote and foster its students' awareness and interest about the Chinese language and culture. Such events include: The Joy of Reading, Dictionary Usage Contest, Identifying Chinese Characters (Spelling Bee), Story Telling and Public Speech Contests, and many more. The School also sponsors various cultural events, such as Spring (Chinese New Year) Festival, Yuan Xiao Lantern Riddles, and Halloween Costume Contest and Parade to celebrate both the Chinese and Western holidays. During school breaks, LCS organizes school-wide family-oriented activities such as the Annual Picnic and the Ski trip to promote and foster a continuing close relationship among its students, teachers, and parents, in order for them to enjoy a total learning experience at the Lexington Chinese School.

Parents of LCS 學校為每週辛苦接送子女上學的家長提供太極拳，中國樂器，交際舞，及各項球類活動。另外經常為家長舉辦專題演講，電影欣賞等活動。本校老師及校務人員大部份由家長擔任。家長參與校務的權力，也有輪值服務的義務。校方鼓勵家長對教材設計，教學方法及各項學藝和聯誼活動的積極參與。學校也編有 "每週通訊" 提供學校活動消息，以促進家長。學生與學校的溝通。 家長須知，家長值日，每週通訊，圖書館，家長代表訊息 Parents of Lexington Chinese School are active participants of the School! While their children attending language classes, parents are welcome to participate in a variety of sports programs, cultural events, lectures, and film presentations sponsored by the School. Some teachers, usually the lower level kindergarten classes, may even encourage parents to attend classes and learn with their children. The School is equipped with a spacious and comfortable lounge where parents can meet to discuss school matters, to socialize among themselves, or to rest and relax. Parents are also welcome to make use of the space as well as its fine collection of the LCS Library. At Lexington Chinese School, parents enjoy as much the right to participate in school management and administration as they are obligated to take turn to serve on campus. The Lexington Chinese School Administration always welcomes and encourages feedback from parents regarding the School's policies and procedures, curriculum (which includes the teaching approaches, textbooks, teaching materials), and academic and student activities. Parents are invited to participate in the actual making of a high quality and well-rounded Lexington Chinese School!
